Aldi’s Lacura Exfoliating Mud Mask
Today I’m going to be reviewing Aldi’s Lacura Exfoliating Mud Mask. A friend of mine put me on to this as she’d seen amazing reviews for it and heard how it was being compared to GlamGlow’s Youthmud mask.
I’ve never actually tried anything by Lacura before, so when I heard about its super powers and the price (£5.99) I couldn’t resist! Lacura’s version will apparently reduce the appearance of fine lines, pores and wrinkles and make your skin appear more radiant over a period of 4 weeks!
Application is easy enough, just apply it like you would any other face mask. I always use a foundation brush, which I think I brought from Primark for like £1! I used to use my fingers, but it always got too messy so a brush keeps things nice and non-messy. As soon as I put it on I could tell it was an exfoliant as I could really feel the grittiness of it and it getting right into my pores. I think for that reason you only need a thin layer because if it was on too thick I don’t think you’d get the full effect of it. You need to leave the mask on for 5 – 10 minutes so it can dry, I think I left it on for just over 10 minutes so it was completely dry on my cheeks, and then rinse off with warm water. I had to really scrub at my face with a flannel to get the mask of and I could feel how rough the little beads were, so my face was getting a good exfoliating, leaving me with baby soft skin!
Benefits and negatives:
+ The mask smelt incredible, it contained green tea, witch hazel and red algae so it smelt so refreshing and clean!
– It did make my cheeks sting quite a bit when it was drying, but I heard that if it stings then it’s doing its job, so maybe not so negative?
+ It left my skin feeling super-duper soft afterwards, although my cheeks were a little red after, but as soon as they’d calmed down I really felt like my complexion looked more balanced.
I really enjoyed using this (I just love a good face mask) and seeing as though brighter, even and a more radiant skin tone is promised if you use this 1-2 times a week for 4 weeks, I am going to accept that challenge! So look out for that post in 4 weeks’ time with before and after photos!
